NEON · an alley in the rain

Neon Rain Alley

The sign lettering is not a texture but drawn at runtime with Canvas 2D — vertical characters, outlines, dead tubes — then mapped onto emissive quads, so every sign belongs to this palette and nothing waits on an image. Rain is two particle layers, one slow and one fast, brightened only near the light boxes; the ground is a dark plane with additive pools of light, and the puddle reflection is simply the sign colours painted a second time.

Why the letters are drawn live

Images would need one set per language and would flash on first paint. Canvas 2D draws synchronously, follows the palette, and makes it easy to leave a tube dead.
